Our
Regional Focus
When we receive an application, we assess it and score it against a set of national and
regional criteria. There are full details of these criteria on page 10 of the Awards for All
application pack and in the Electronic Application Form's help
system.
The score that we give your application will decide whether it is successful or not. The score
that your application needs to be successful will vary depending on the amount and quality of
applications we receive, and the money we have available at the time.
This page gives information about our regional criteria – the Regional Focus.
Awards for All welcomes applications from all sectors of the community and all parts of the
region.
We want to make awards that not only meet the national aims of Awards for All but also respond
to the particular needs of our region. We have consulted on these needs within our region and
our Regional Focus is intended to ensure that our grantmaking responds to these needs.
In the South East region we will score more highly those projects which
| - |
benefit children and young people up to the age of 18 in areas where
access to facilities and services is limited.
|
| |
|
Whether in rural or urban areas, there are wards nationally recognised as deprived or having
a lack of access to basic services. We aim to prioritise projects that address these issues. |
|
-
|
benefit disabled people.
|
| |
|
Disabled people may face a range of challenges and barriers to full participation in the community, and a
lack of opportunities. We want to encourage projects which attempt to address such issues. |
|
-
|
benefit older people (aged 60 or over).
|
| |
|
Older people may face isolation due to issues around health, disability or income. We want to fund local
clubs and groups to address these issues. |
|
-
|
help communities explore and share their heritage, traditions and cultures.
|
| |
|
The South East has a rich heritage both in terms of its environment and its people. We want to encourage
projects which bring communities together to develop a shared understanding and recognition of their local
traditions, cultures or heritage. |
| - |
benefit people who experience traditional or cultural barriers to full participation
in the community. |
| |
|
We want to support projects that specifically aim to help people, who experience such barriers, to take a
more active part in activities, improving the quality of their lives and enriching the whole community. |
If you feel your project meets our Regional Focus, please use question 11 in the application
form to explain how it does this.
